About Department

Physics (from Ancient Greek, phusikḗ (epistḗmē) "knowledge of nature", from phúsis "nature") is the natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion and behaviour through space and time.

Departmental Profile

The department of Physics was instituted from the inception of the Science department in June 2010. Physics as the principal subject was started in June 2012. It offers courses at the Undergraduate levels. The Undergraduate centre offers Material Science, Nanotechnology, Lasers as elective courses at UG level. Presently the department has 2 full time members for UG teaching.

• The department has 1 well equipped and dedicated laboratory and 1 dark room.
• Faculty members are actively involved in syllabus forming and restructuring at university level for Undergraduate students.
• Research carried out by faculty members are published in National and International journals, seminars and conferences.

• Availability of computer lab with access to the internet.
• Departmental library.
• Rychard Feynman Physics club organizes activities like project competition, poster presentation, quiz competition, field trip etc. to create and nurture interest in physics.
• Department always encourages students to participate in Avishkar competition.
• To encourage T.Y.B.Sc. students for their bright future, every year motivational books are distributed.
